Job Summary – Correctional HealthThe Nurse Clinician II (NCII) applies professional nursing standards specified in the Texas Nursing Practice Act and Correctional Health Nursing Service. The NCII independently and safely manages patients in the assigned clinical area, identifies when assistance is needed, and ensures proper resources are utilized. The NCII provides competent generalist care, supporting patient safety and quality outcomes within the correctional health setting.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Licensure & Certification:
Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing; BSN preferred
Licensed to practice nursing in Texas
Basic Life Support (BLS) from a hospital-based American Heart Association (AHA) approved program
Other certificates as required by unit/service
Work Experience:
Minimum 1 year full-time RN experience
Communication Skills:
Above Average Verbal (Heavy Public Contact)
Exceptional Verbal (e.g., Public Speaking)
Writing / Composing (Correspondence / Reports)
Bilingual Skills Preferred; able to accurately interpret and transmit clinical information in English, verbally and in writing
