Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU

Job Type: Full-Time

Commitment Bonus of $15,000 (2 years)

Position Summary: The Registered Nurse works under the supervision of the Director and is responsible for providing nursing care for acutely ill patients.

RN performs assigned procedures that are within the scope of practice as set forth by the Iowa State Board of Nursing.

Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.

Documents patient care provided.

Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.

Assists patients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.

Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.

Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.

Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.

Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.

Maintains regular and reliable attendance.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program required with a current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in Iowa or from a Compact State.

Dysrhythmia course completed within 6 months of hire or pass written dysrhythmia competency within 90 days of hire

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Recent RN experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support (ACLS)

Experience in Telemetry or Progressive Care nursing

Progressive Care RN Certification
