Pain Management Registered Nurse (RN) Position Details
- The pain management nurse provides specialized nursing care to chronic pain patients in the clinic setting as well as to patients undergoing outpatient pain intervention procedures.
- Position rotates between clinic RN and procedure RN on an as needed basis as schedule dictates.
- Responsible for the admission, intraprocedural care and discharge of the pain management patient for outpatient pain intervention procedures.
- Provides conscious sedation under direction of CRNA.
- Responsible for rooming the pain management clinic patients, scheduling appointments for patients, and completing other clinical tasks per provider direction.
- Provides patient education and follow-up plan of care to patients.
- Displays the ability to document pertinent patient data, nursing interventions, and patient responses; documentation is accurate, timely, and concise.
- Displays the ability to be flexible with schedule, as well as role based on department needs.
What You Offer
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Minnesota, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Chronic Pain management experience in a chronic pain management clinic and with pain intervention procedures.
- Prior experience administering conscious sedation.
- Ability to work independently in a clinic setting alongside a provider while building and maintaining positive relationships with patients, families, peers, physicians, and other healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records systems and strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Work Schedule
- Casual/PRN
- Daytime hours, Monday-Friday; specific shift times vary based on schedule
