Job Description
FULL-TIME (MONDAY-FRIDAY) REGISTERED NURSE NEEDED FOR A SURGERY SCHEDULING POSITIONQUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduate of a RN/LPN program
- At least 2 years work history as a surgery scheduler or in a clinical or surgical setting
- Currently licensed and in good standing (or eligible to be by state date) by Louisiana State Board of Nursing
- Eligible (no prohibitions) for credentialing under Medicare, Medicaid and Commercial insurance programs
- Pass basic background check for criminal history, OIG, etc.
- Candidates will be responsible to review pre-op and post-op instructions with patients, coordinating with outside facilities, scheduling patient appointments to sign consents and requesting cardiac clearances when warranted. Candidates will also assist in the clinic setting when available.
- Candidates must be familiar with completing surgery consent forms and possess a strong knowledge of medications.
- Knowledge of EMR / Charting / coding requirements
- General proficiency working with computers and data analysis
- Strong communication skills and professional demeanor
- Ability to work independently when required / appropriate
