This is a temporary 13 weeks contract assignment. If you meet the qualifications listed below and are interested, please Apply Now!Position Title: Registered Nurse- Behavioral PsychLocation: Nashua, NH 03060Duration: 13 WeeksWork Schedule: Night Shift 7p-7a (36hrs per week)Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
- Perform comprehensive mental and physical assessments upon admission and throughout hospitalization.
- Assess, monitor, document, and report changes in patients' physical and behavioral conditions.
- Obtain accurate patient histories and complete admission assessments.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate nursing care activities for geropsychiatric patients.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and established protocols.
- Monitor and document patients' responses to medications, treatments, and therapeutic interventions.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living while promoting safety, dignity, and independence.
- Facilitate therapeutic groups and provide patient education based on individual diagnoses and needs.
- Conduct one-on-one therapeutic interactions using effective communication and de-escalation techniques.
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic milieu conducive to recovery and emotional well-being.
- Collaborate with physicians, social workers, therapists, case managers, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Coordinate care with community agencies and external healthcare providers when appropriate.
- Develop and implement discharge plans and provide discharge education to patients and families.
- Complete all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner, including:
- Admission paperwork
- Mental and physical assessments
- Nursing progress notes
- Treatment plans
- Interventions and evaluations
- Medication administration records
- Discharge documentation
- CQI+ data and quality reports
- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings and care conferences.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, organizational policies, and best nursing practices.
- Monitor patient outcomes and contribute to continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to ethical and professional nursing standards.
- Promote patient safety through infection prevention and risk reduction practices.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care aligned with the organization's mission and core values.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Diploma in Nursing required.
- BSN preferred.
- Current and valid State of New Hampshire RN License required.
- BLS Certification required.
- Minimum one year of nursing experience preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology required.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in documentation and electronic medical records.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced behavioral health environment.
