What You’ll Do:

• Provide high-quality patient care to adults with complex needs including CVA, TIA, and COVID-19 cases
• Manage IVs, arterial lines, Foley catheters, tube feedings, and insulin drips
• Assess and respond to patient health status using NIHSS and other monitoring tools
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including hospitalists, RTs, PTs, and STs
• Complete documentation in Meditech Expanse EMR accurately and efficiently
• Support the unit’s charge nurse in patient management and bed assignments
• Float to stepdown and med-surg units as needed, adapting quickly to different patient populations

What You Need:

• Active Louisiana RN license
• 2+ years of RN experience in an acute care setting
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS required
• Skills: CVA/TIA patient management, CVL placement, foley care, tube feedings, arterial lines, drip titration (Levophed preferred), EKG competency
• Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and support holiday coverage

About the Assignment: This assignment is at a leading facility in Bossier City, LA. You'll be working on a 6-bed PCU unit caring for patients with complex conditions such as strokes and post-COVID recovery. The unit maintains a patient ratio of 1 RN to 3 patients and provides essential support services around the clock, including hospitalist coverage, RTs, and therapy teams.
