What You’ll Do

• Provide top-quality nursing care to medical, surgical, and oncology patients
• Administer medications, IV starts, and manage port access and drains
• Monitor patient status and respond swiftly to changes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RTs, therapists, and hospitalists
• Document patient information accurately using Meditech Expanse EMR
• Support patient safety and infection prevention protocols
• Participate in unit-specific procedures like PICC/Midline placements (support role)

What You NeedRequired:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure
• Minimum of 2 years RN experience in acute care, with strong med/surg and telemetry skills
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam prior to start

Preferred:

• Chemo certification or willingness to verify completion
• Experience with IV/VAT team procedures and port management

About the AssignmentJoin a high-performance unit known for its dedication to patient safety and care excellence. This 25-bed medical, surgical, and oncology unit manages diverse case loads, including direct admissions, end-of-life care, and chemo treatments (excluding bone marrow transplants). You'll have the support of experienced charge nurses, resource nurses, and a multidisciplinary team, ensuring a smooth transition and a rewarding experience.
