• Shift: 12-Hour Nights (Work every Mon/Tues for one group; every Wed/Thurs for another)

• Licenses/Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, NIH Certifications required
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience; previous stepdown/PCU experience preferred

What You’ll Do

• Provide direct patient care in a PCU setting, managing stepdown patient requirements
• Administer medications, including titratable infusions like Cardene, Cardizem, Insulin, Heparin, Neo, and Levophed (manager approval required for experience waiver)
• Manage complex patient conditions such as CVA, TIA, post-surgical spinal cases, and cardiac or respiratory issues
• Monitor cardiac telemetry and document patient progress in EMR (Meditech Expanse)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including RT, OT, PT, hospitalist, and supportive staff
• Support patient safety through charting, vitals, and timely response to alarms and changes in patient condition

What You NeedRequired:

• Valid Registered Nurse license in Louisiana or be eligible for licensing reciprocity
• 2+ years of RN experience in acute care settings
• BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications
• Ability to pass EKG competency exam prior to orientation

Preferred:

• Experience with chest tube management, trach care, dialysis, and lumbar drains
• Experience working in stepdown or telemetry units
• Flexibility to work night shifts and entire 13-week contract duration
