Job Description
Job Title: CVICU Registered Nurse (RN)
Location: Morgantown, WV 26505
Duration: 13 Weeks (Possible Extension)
Shift: Alternating 3x12-hour shifts (Days and Nights, Weekdays & Weekends). Rotating blocks of night shifts and day shifts based on facility needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide high-acuity nursing care in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).
Manage direct fresh open-heart admissions from the OR.
Perform advanced hemodynamic and pressure monitoring.
Manage and interpret Swan-Ganz catheter data.
Monitor and manage Impella devices.
Provide care for patients receiving CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy).
Perform ACT (Activated Clotting Time) monitoring.
Maintain a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio (based on acuity; may include step-down overflow patients).
Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Qualification:
Minimum 2+ years of CVICU experience.
Strong cardiac surgery experience.
Must have direct fresh open-heart admission experience from OR.
Experience with Swan-Ganz management.
Experience with Impella monitoring.
Experience with CRRT.
ACT (Activated Clotting Time) experience required.
Current Certifications:
BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support)
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
NIH (NIH Stroke Scale)
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience with Cerner EMR.
Experience handling step-down level overflow patients.
Travel experience preferred but not required.
