Job Description

Location: Kansas City, MOShifts Available: Days & Nights (Rotating Weekends)Compensation: $30.04 – $41.50/hr (experience-based)Shift Differentials: +$4/hr Nights & WeekendsSign-On Bonus: Case-by-caseRelocation Assistance: Case-by-case

Position Overview

A reputable Level I Trauma Center in Kansas City is seeking caring and motivated Medical-Surgical Registered Nurses to join a high-performing Med/Surg team.

This role provides the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population—including medical, surgical, cardiac, orthopedic, neurologic, and nephrology patients—while expanding your clinical skills in a supportive environment that encourages professional growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments in accordance with standards of care and disease-specific protocols.

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

  • Provide direct patient care and delegate appropriately to non-licensed staff per scope of practice.

  • Deliver patient and family education, including emotional and cultural support tailored to individual needs.

  • Document assessments, interventions, and responses accurately and timely.

Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 1 year of acute-care RN experience (recent experience not required).

Education

  • ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program.

Licensure/Certification

  • Active RN license in Missouri or Compact RN license.

  • BLS certification required upon hire.

  • Unit Type: Med/Surg (specialties include Neuro, Ortho, Nephrology)

  • Unit Size: 49 beds

  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 6:1
