- Location: Marrero, LA
- Employment Type: Per-Diem (this is a 1099 position)
- Hourly Rate: $41.76 per hour
- Competitive Compensation: Earn a strong hourly rate of $41.76 per hour.
- Work Schedule: This is a per-diem position.
- 6:45 pm- 7:15 am CDT ( 30 min break)
- 6:45 pm- 7:15 am CST ( 30 min break)

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Active, unencumbered RN license from the state of LA and current BLS Certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year of RN work experience.
- Soft Skills: Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, effective communication, cultural competency, collaboration, adaptability, and a positive attitude.
- Performing standardized (e.g., NIHSS, Glasgow Coma Scale) and focused neuro-checks every 1 to 4 hours to detect subtle changes in mental status, motor strength, pupil response, and level of consciousness.
- Continuously monitoring patients on telemetry, managing arterial lines, and observing for cardiac instability or blood pressure fluctuations common in stroke or brain injury patients.
- Caring for and monitoring patients with external ventricular drains (EVDs), lumbar drains, or subdural drains, including accurate measurement of drainage and monitoring for infection.
- Performing bedside swallowing screens before allowing oral intake, positioning the patient to protect the airway, and implementing precautions to prevent aspiration pneumonia in patients with cranial nerve deficits.
- Educating patients and families on recognizing stroke warning signs, managing new medications (antiplatelets/anticoagulants), and coordinating rehabilitation services to prevent readmission.
