Job Description

Day/Night Rotation, Shifts: 7a-730p, 7p-730a

Reports to:

Clinical Supervisor, ICU

Position Supervises:

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing direct nursing care to assigned patients in the Intensive Care Unit. Provides intensive nursing care to acutely ill medical and/or surgical inpatients. The Registered Nurse's responsibilities include, but are not limited to, performance improvement initiatives, utilization of the nursing process in the provision of care, communication skills, flexibility, quality improvement activities, and professional growth.

Education

⚬ Minimum:

Graduate of a Registered Nurse Program

⚬ Preferred:

Bachelor Degree in Nursing, CCRN

Registration/Certification/Licensure:

Current PA RN license, Healthcare Provider CPR, ACLS within one year of hire/transfer, and Act 33/73 clearances

Experience

⚬ Minimum:

Clinical rotation through educational program.

Preferred:

Prior med-surg experience and arrhythmia interpretation. Critical Care experience, including but not limited to: IABP, IV insertion, care of the ventilator patient, ABG's, Swan Ganz, Arterial Lines, care of the post open heart patient, and care of the patient requiring CRRT, ACLS, and PALS.

Other Requirements:

Comprehensive Crisis Management per policy, participation in the Rapid Response Team and the Cardiac Arrest Team as assigned.
