Job Description

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) — Nights | Level II Trauma | Cardiovascular Program
Pay: $28.00 – $40.00/hr (experience-based; top of range typically ≥12 yrs)
Sign-On Bonus: $15,000
Relocation: Case-by-case
Schedule: Nights • Rotating Weekends • Full-time
Location: Sanford, FL (Seminole/West Volusia County)

Overview

Join a 220+ bed acute care Level II Trauma hospital with the region’s only full-service cardiovascular program (open-heart, interventional cardiology, EP, rehab). You’ll manage ventilated and non-invasive patients across critical and acute settings and gain targeted Vascular Access upskilling in a high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive respiratory assessments (breath sounds, airway patency, cuff pressure) and document timely, accurate findings.

  • Administer therapies: oxygen delivery, aerosol meds, chest physiotherapy, bronchial hygiene.

  • Initiate/monitor/maintain invasive & noninvasive mechanical ventilation; adjust settings per protocols/provider orders.

  • Assist with artificial airway placement; ensure airway integrity during transports and emergent events.

  • Execute diagnostic testing as indicated; monitor therapeutic response and escalate promptly to providers.

  • Respond to codes and emergent situations; support resuscitation and post-event stabilization.

  • Collaborate with nursing, providers, case management, and ancillary teams to optimize outcomes and throughput.

Qualifications

Required

  • RRT credential: NBRC and Florida state licensure (or eligibility).

  • Completion of an AMA-approved two-year respiratory care program (Associate or equivalent).

  • BLS within 30 days of start; ACLS, PALS, NRP within 6 months of start.

Experience

  • Flexible on experienceNew grads considered only if they’ve just passed boards or are awaiting license and have no prior RT employment.

  • Prior acute/critical care and ventilator management experience is a plus.
