Job Description

Clean Harbors located in Kapolei, HI is seeking a Remediation Project Superintendent. The Project Superintendent is primarily responsible for leading and supervising crews in the field on projects. This position is responsible for activities at customer sites and helping with onsite projects. 95-100% travel required around the Hawaiian Islands as main function of the job, support occasionally needed stateside.
This position requires experience with civil or remediation experience with soil/dirt projects.
Location: Kapolei, HI preferred- all other Hawaiian locations will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Pay: $35-45/HR DOE, extensive OT possible depending on project site, additional pay hourly available at federal project sites, and other perks available. 
Travel Details: Per Diem available daily while away from local branch, travel costs covered by the company. Travel around Hawaiian Islands with local branch in Kapolei, HI serving as a home office.
Join a team with a focus on safely executing large technical remediation, environmental construction, and transportation/disposal projects across the country and internationally. Work with a customer base across several lines of business, including regulator, government, and military. Collaborate with other industry professionals across our Sales, Landfill, Incineration, Transportation, TSDF, and local office network leveraging the companies turn-key approach to projects and customer service. Lead teams comprised of foreman, equipment operators, and other professionals. Travel to new locations to meet customers and field personnel and see projects in action. Work with support from administrators, senior managers, and other support personnel and teams. All travel to/from your home airport and the project is covered. Additional annual reimbursement for maintaining certain licenses including a drone pilot’s license. Paid training and tuition reimbursement plus paid continuing education opportunities. Live anywhere in the continental United States and travel to various sites all over the country (95-100% travel).

Responsibilities:
  • Ensuring that Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Meet with customers as needed to ensure customer satisfaction and to resolve any pending complaints or issues.
  • Participate in joint calls with specialists as needed and maintain a professional image when dealing with customers.
  • Maintain up to date confined space supervisor and emergency response supervisor certifications.
  • Manage large scale field service and emergency response projects when directed.
  • Understand and work with the Coordinator in the communication of manpower, equipment and resources required to complete field service and emergency response projects.
  • Act as the on-call coordinator on an as needed basis.
  • Oversee projects for Health and Safety, profitability, completeness and professionalism.
  • Responsible for H&S issues surrounding projects assigned, including reviewing operational procedures to assure correct H&S action plans and communicate effectively with the H&S organization regarding onsite specific action.
  • Respond immediately when on-call or secure proper coverage, and communicate replacement name to supervisor/manager.
  • Enforce and ensure OSHA, EPA and H&S standards or regulations are complaint.
  • Responsible for the timely reporting of work-related accidents or incidents to immediate supervisor.
  • Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum High School education required.
  • Experience in Civil or Remediation dirt/soil projects required.
  • BS/BA in ASC or BS/BA Preferred.
  • Emergency response supervisor training and Marine Spill Response training preferred.
  • Knowledge of scoping and pricing Field Service work.
  • Knowledge of Federal, state and local environmental regulations.
  • Knowledge of various types of equipment.
  • Proficiency in Windows based applications.
  • 3-5 years of experience in remediation or similar preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in environmental field service operations preferred.
  • 2-4 years supervisory experience preferred.
  • Valid DL and acceptable MVR required.
  • Ability to complete DBIDS after hire to work at a federal location.
  • Ability to travel.
