This position is ideal for a self-starter who can independently manage all aspects of their cases while providing exceptional client service.

- Candidate must be relocated prior to starting work (if not already in the area)
- Handle a broad range of criminal defense matters, including DUI/DWAI, domestic violence cases, traffic offenses, and juvenile delinquency matters
- Take full ownership of cases from start to finish, including motions practice, hearings, negotiations, and trial preparation/appearances
- Analyze police reports, evidence, witness statements, and procedural errors to identify suppression issues and defense angles early
- Maintain consistent, clear, and empathetic communication with clients facing high stress, high impact situations
- Manage fast-moving deadlines, court schedules, and time sensitive filings across El Paso County
- Work with investigators, experts, and internal team members to build tailored defense strategies—no cookie cutter approaches
- Prepare all cases as if they may go to trial, even when resolution is likely
- Optional: Additional exposure may include related matters such as protective orders, DMV hearings, or collateral impact advisement (employment/licensing/etc.)
- Minimum 3 years of criminal defense experience, including courtroom advocacy and strong working knowledge of Texas criminal procedures and local court rules
- Experience handling DUI, domestic violence, traffic, and/or juvenile matters
- Must reside within reasonable travel distance of El Paso County courthouses and be available for required in person hearings
- Strong ability to review and challenge evidence (e.g., stops, field sobriety tests, chemical tests, body cam footage)
- Familiarity with Clio legal software and Math4Law is a plus*
- Licensed attorney in good standing with NO disciplinary history in ANY state.
