Position: Compliance ManagerLocation: Fully Remote- Anywhere in USCompensation: $75,000–$90,000Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:30 PM EasternBenefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance with company participation; additional life/disability coverage available; 401(k) after 6 months; PTO
Overview
A mortgage company is adding a hands-on Compliance professional to support its internal compliance function. This role will perform disclosure and loan file reviews, serve as the internal QC facilitator, review marketing materials for compliance, coordinate compliance training, track regulatory changes, and communicate applicable requirements to management and staff. This is not a people management role.
The company is also expanding and enhancing its existing QC system, and this person will actively assist with that process.
This is not a QC oversight-only position. The person hired will personally perform QC and compliance review work.
Prior licensing, NMLS, or MCR experience is helpful but not required. An outside licensing provider handles application and renewal submissions. This position will primarily monitor, track, and maintain licensing records internally.
Responsibilities
• Conduct mortgage disclosure and loan file compliance reviews• Perform hands-on internal QC reviews• Identify deficiencies, document and track findings, and assist with corrective actions• Help expand and enhance the existing QC system and processes• Review mortgage advertising and marketing materials for compliance• Review websites, social media, promotional materials, and electronic communications• Monitor and coordinate regulatory compliance training• Monitor federal and state regulatory changes• Communicate applicable compliance requirements to management and staff• Identify regulatory and operational risks• Communicate compliance concerns directly to senior management• Monitor and maintain internal licensing records• Coordinate with the company’s outside licensing provider as needed• Support NMLS and MCR-related matters when applicable
Qualifications
• 5 years of mortgage compliance experience• Strong knowledge of federal and state mortgage regulations• Experience conducting mortgage disclosure and loan file reviews• Hands-on mortgage Quality Control experience• Experience identifying deficiencies, tracking findings, and assisting with corrective actions• Experience with mortgage advertising and marketing compliance• Experience reviewing websites, social media, promotional materials, and electronic communications for compliance• Experience coordinating compliance training• Ability to monitor regulatory changes and communicate applicable requirements• Strong attention to detail and ability to identify regulatory and operational risks• Ability to work independently• Comfortable communicating compliance concerns directly to senior management• Encompass experience• Licensing experience is a plus, not required• NMLS experience is a plus, not required• MCR experience is a plus, not required
