As a Rendering Superintendent your roles and responsibilities will include:

The client is seeking a hands-on Rendering Superintendent to oversee the day-to-day operations of its rendering plant in Millsboro, Delaware. This role is responsible for managing production activities, raw material receiving, finished product loading, employee supervision, and compliance with safety, environmental, and product quality standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in rendering, poultry or meat processing, or a related food manufacturing environment, along with strong leadership, troubleshooting, and operational management skills.Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily rendering plant operations to meet production, safety, environmental, and quality objectives.
• Manage raw material receiving and ensure timely loading and shipment of finished products.
• Troubleshoot equipment and process issues and take appropriate corrective action.
• Supervise, train, develop, and retain plant employees.
• Implement cross-training programs to improve employee skills and operational flexibility.
• Monitor production performance and complete accurate daily operational reports.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, environmental, and workplace safety requirements.
• Support preventive maintenance, process improvements, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with maintenance, transportation, and other plant teams.
• Provide supervisory support to other shifts as needed.

Most importantly, you need to be a passionate Rendering Superintendent who enjoys his work and is considered to be one of the best within your organization. The ideal Rendering Superintendent would be someone with deep experience in many (if not all) of the following:

• High school diploma or GED required; a bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory or management experience preferred.
• 3 5 years of rendering experience preferred.
• PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) certification or relevant food safety preventive controls knowledge.
• Experience in rendering, poultry processing, meat processing, protein processing, or food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of plant equipment, production processes, and operational systems.
• Ability to make sound decisions regarding safety, environmental compliance, and product quality.
• Strong troubleshooting, employee development, and problem-solving skills.
• Stable employment history with demonstrated leadership growth.
