Compensation Range
The base pay scale for this position is $23.35 - $35.51. In addition, this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to: scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The hiring range listed is a good faith determination of potential compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
What you will be doing
We are currently seeking a part-time research assistant at the Hospital for Special Surgery under the supervision of Dr. Duretti Fufa, an orthopaedic hand and reconstructive surgery attending. This position is open preferably to a medical student who can commit to doing research for a year with a set stipend.
While the research assistant is expected to contribute in many ways to the research projects, typical research assistant's duties and responsibilities are as follows:
o Coordinating and leading bi-weekly research meetings, and follow-up accordingly
o Managing and responding to project related emails
o Managing research accounts (IRBs, CRPs, RedCap)
o Preparing materials for submission to the Internal Review Board (IRB)
o Conducting literature reviews
o Collecting and analyzing data
o Working with the biostatistician team to request data via Epic and for conducting statistical analysis
o Presenting research at meetings/conferences
o Preparing materials for submission to granting agencies and foundations
o Tracking and submitting all research related expenses including reimbursements for patients participating in research studies.
o Recruiting and/or interviewing subjects
o Educating patients on the terms of their involvements, obtaining consent, making sure they are comfortable participating and following up with them according to research timeline.
o Aid in drafting manuscripts for submission to journals, and abstracts for submission to conferences
o Performing other research related duties as assigned by supervisor (i.e., Dr. Fufa)
