About the role: 

Superluminal Medicines, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Research Associate – Senior Research Associate with cell biology, assay development and screening experience to join our growing Biology team. The Company’s platform aims to develop candidate-ready compounds with unprecedented speed using a combination of deep biology, computational and medicinal chemistry, machine learning, and proprietary big data infrastructure. This role will contribute across our early drug discovery programs and has the opportunity to collaborate with a highly interdisciplinary team. The successful candidate is someone highly motivated and looking to expand their existing proficiencies in cell biology, assay development and screening.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Routine mammalian tissue culture and cell line maintenance 
  • Execute cell-based assays and routine screening to support programs
  • Under manager’s guidance, develop and optimize new assays for screening
  • Reliably generate, analyze and upload data to company database 
  • Ensure compliance with company established practices and procedures including both wet and digital lab

Qualifications & Skills:        

  • B.S. in Biology or related discipline with 1-5 years of experience in industry
  • Hands-on experience in mammalian tissue culture techniques required
  • Hands-on experience in plate-based in vitro assay technologies (including HTRF, luminescence, BRET, Alpha) highly desirable
  • Experience in assay development and optimization running routine screening campaigns highly desirable
  • Experience with laboratory automation and semi-automated assay workflows a plus
  • High-level understanding of early drug discovery processes 
  • Highly motivated and innovative with a can-do attitude; thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
