Position Overview We're seeking a skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our growing team. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience across a range of smart technology systems and thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment serving both residential and commercial clients.
Responsibilities
- Install, program, and troubleshoot home automation systems (Control4, Lutron, and similar platforms)
- Design and install custom home theater systems, including audio/video calibration
- Install and configure security and surveillance systems (cameras, alarms, monitoring)
- Run and terminate structured network cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, fiber)
- Install and program access control systems
- Set up and configure Voice over IP (VoIP) telephone systems
- Install and integrate automated shading systems
- Read and interpret architectural/electrical plans for pre-wire and trim-out phases
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe job sites
- Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, and other trades on-site
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in low voltage installation (residential and/or commercial)
- Working knowledge of Control4, Lutron, Sonos, or similar platforms preferred
- Experience with structured cabling standards and best practices
- Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP addressing, VLANs, troubleshooting)
- Comfortable working at heights, in attics/crawlspaces, and using standard hand/power tools
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred (not required)
- Manufacturer certifications (Control4, Lutron, etc.)
- Low voltage license (California C-7 or ability to obtain)
