Position Overview
As a Residential Gas Pipe Installer at Dave Jones, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient installation of gas piping systems for residential properties.
Compensation Details:
- $22 to $30 per hour based on experience
- Company truck + fuel card
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand and practice the principles of code-compliant gas systems using copper, steel and flexible piping.
- Competent in blueprint reading and general layout from both designed and non-pre drawn designs.
- Cut/core openings in structures to accommodate pipes and fittings using hand and power tools.
- Ensure no leaks and compliance with gas provider and municipality requirements through system testing.
- Calculate BTU loads and properly size piping schematics.
- Install pipe assemblies, fittings, valves, regulators, and appliances.
- Assist in the training and development of Youth Apprentices, Pre-Apprentices, and Apprentices on the job sites.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience in gas pipe installation or related field.
- Knowledge of gas codes and safety regulations.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical documentation.
- Ability to work alone
- Ability to lift heavy materials and perform physical tasks consistently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
