Job Summary
The Respiratory Therapy Manager for the NICU oversees neonatal respiratory care services within the inpatient setting. This role ensures high-quality patient care for critically ill neonates, regulatory compliance, and staff development specific to neonatal intensive care.Essential Functions-Leads a team of neonatal respiratory therapists, providing guidance, mentorship, and supervision- including recruiting, training, scheduling, and evaluating staff performance to ensure optimal patient care.-Oversees the day-to-day operations of the respiratory therapy department- including establishing and maintaining departmental policies and procedures.-Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to coordinate and optimize patient care plans.-Manages respiratory therapy equipment, supplies and inventory within the department.-Promotes professional development among respiratory therapy staff by organizing and facilitating educational programs, workshops, and training sessions.-Assesses and evaluates the performance of the respiratory therapy department, monitoring key performance indicators.-Works closely with regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with standards and regulations related to respiratory therapy services and point of care testing for Blood Gas Analysis.-Performs other duties as assigned.Qualifications

Registered Respiratory Therapist [RRT] - The National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) preferred Respiratory Therapist [Massachusetts] Required
Massachusetts Board of Respiratory Care preferred Respiratory Care Practitioner [State License] RequiredExperienceExperience working as a respiratory therapist 3-5 years required
Experience in a supervisory or management role 1-2 years requiredNPS Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Care Specialty (cert) preferred
NICU experience 2-3 years preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the respiratory system in the neonate.- Knowledge of respiratory therapy techniques and equipment applicable to the NICU.- Proficiency in performing basic and specialized respiratory care interventions applicable to the NICU and delivery room.- Ability to perform patient assessments and monitor patient progress.- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot equipment and patient issues.- Ability to adapt in changing situations and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
