Commercial Kitchen Equipment Service Technician (Full-Time)Location: Butte, MontanaCompany: Harrington Restaurant SupplyCompensation: $25.00-$30.00 per hour, depending on experience, certifications, and technical expertiseFLSA Status: Non-ExemptEmployment Type: Full-Time | Non-UnionJoin Our TeamHarrington Restaurant Supply is hiring a Commercial Kitchen Equipment Service Technician to support customers throughout Montana. We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined professional with experience in restaurant equipment repair, refrigeration service, appliance troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance. This field-based position is ideal for a technician who enjoys solving problems, working independently, and delivering exceptional customer service.As a member of our service team, you will help restaurants, institutions, and foodservice operations minimize downtime by maintaining and repairing essential commercial kitchen equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will inspect, diagnose, service, and repair a variety of commercial foodservice and refrigeration equipment, including:Commercial ovens, ranges, grills, and broilers

Fryers, steamers, and pressure cookers

Commercial dishwashing systems

Refrigeration equipment, walk-in coolers, and walk-in freezers

Gas and electric cooking equipment

Hot-side and cold-side restaurant equipment

Additional responsibilities include:Performing preventive maintenance and scheduled service inspections

Installing and commissioning new equipment

Troubleshooting electrical, gas, mechanical, and refrigeration systems

Reading wiring diagrams, service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation

Testing equipment to verify safe and efficient operation

Identifying required replacement parts and coordinating orders

Maintaining accurate service reports, work orders, and maintenance records

Communicating repair recommendations, timelines, and equipment status with customers

Following safety procedures and company service standards

Travel RequirementsThis position is primarily a field service technician role with travel throughout Montana. Candidates should be comfortable driving to customer locations and may occasionally be required to stay overnight for service calls outside the local area.Work EnvironmentTechnicians regularly work in commercial kitchens, restaurants, schools, healthcare facilities, and other foodservice environments. Conditions may include:Exposure to heat, grease, and moisture

Working in confined or restricted spaces

Standing, kneeling, bending, and lifting throughout the day

After-hours, weekend, overtime, and on-call emergency service work when needed

QualificationsRequiredHigh school diploma, GED, or equivalent

Minimum of two years of experience repairing commercial restaurant equipment, refrigeration systems, or related mechanical equipment

Working knowledge of electrical controls, gas appliances, and refrigeration fundamentals

Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues independently

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record

Strong troubleshooting, time-management, and customer service skills

Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and safely perform physical job duties

PreferredEPA 608 CertificationCFESA CertificationHVAC/R or refrigeration experience

Factory or manufacturer training on commercial foodservice equipment

Experience servicing both hot-side and cold-side equipment
