OPEN POSITION RETS Pod Tax Accountant (Fully Remote – U.S.) Salary: $110,000 – $130,000 Location: Fully Remote (U.S.-based) Type: Full-Time High-impact role – niche specialization+ career growth About the OpportunityWe're partnered with a modern, forward-thinking CPA firm that is building out a specialized Real Estate Tax (RETS) Pod — focused entirely on rental properties, real estate investors, and advanced tax strategy.This is not a generalist tax role.This is a deep specialization opportunity for someone who genuinely enjoys real estate tax and wants to become a true subject matter expert. What Makes This Unique Real estate focused (not a mix of unrelated work) Blend of hands-down preparation+ client advisory exposure Work directly on Schedule E, 8825, cost seg, REPS, STR loopholes Be part of a new, growing specialized team you can help shape Clear path: Supervisor Manager Partner What You'll Be Doing Prepare and review tax returns with a heavy focus on rental real estate Work on Schedule E + Form 8825-heavy engagements Handle cost segregation setups + depreciation planning Identify REPS, material participation, STR strategy opportunities Assist with 3115 / 481(a) adjustments and technical issues Support client conversations and consultations Contribute to building processes within a growing specialized team Qualifications 2–5+ years of tax experience in public accounting CPA or EA (or actively pursuing) Strong exposure to real estate / rental tax work Comfortable in both prep-heavy+ client-facing environments Genuine interest in real estate tax and staying current Why This Role Not a compliance-only position — real technical depth Become a go-to expert in a high-demand niche Fully remote with a modern, growth-oriented firm Exposure to complex, interesting client work Long-term career acceleration, not stagnation Bottom LineIf you've naturally gravitated toward real estate clients and actually enjoy that work — this is a chance to lean into it and build a true specialty.
