When you're at one of our theme parks, the fun never ends! Our Ride Technicians are a big reason why. If you've got the knowledge and skill to keep our rides in peak working order - get on board! Become a Ride Technician with SeaWorld Parks and Entertainment! As a Rides Technician, you'll be responsible for performing all general maintenance of rides to provide a safe environment for guests and team members alike. We're looking to you to make sure our rides are good to go! You will:

  • Conduct daily ride inspections

  • Perform preventative maintenance and scheduled services

  • Provide support in troubleshooting problems with mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment

  • Provide excellent service to guests and ambassadors

  • Consistently practice safe work habits including, but not limited to the use of personal protective equipment, lifting, and reporting of unsafe situations

  • Maintain proficiency in all manufacturing manuals related to each individual ride

  • Assist in maintaining all equipment and structures within the park

What it takes to succeed:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to provide and use basic hand tools

  • Ability to pass ride inspection competency tests and obtain state inspection license

  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components in the field

  • Flexibility to perform varied duties

What else is important:

  • At least 18 years of age

  • A valid driver's license and ability to obtain a park driver's license

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required

  • Trade or Technical School (Certificate or diploma), Electrical/Mechanical Schooling preferred

  • Current PA electrical journeyman license is a plus, but not required

  • PLC/Electrical knowledge and prior mechanical experience preferred

  • Experience in other related maintenance fields preferred (automotive mechanic/technician, production line mechanic, and aircraft mechanic, etc.)

  • Ability to lift, push, pull and/or carry up to 50 lbs

  • Position engages in extensive walking and standing throughout entire work shift

  • Perform the following physical activities: kneeling, squatting, bend floor-to waist/waist-to-overhead, reach overhead, simple grasp and fine hand manipulation tasks (use of tools/keyboard/writing)

  • Perform cleaning duties; including use of cleaning chemicals

  • Willingness to comply with all SEA grooming guidelines and employment standards

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors, in varying weather, to include extreme heat

  • Flexible, consistent availability (including nights, weekends and holidays) and adhere to our 2022 Holiday and Availability agreement.

  • Consistently practice safe work habits including the use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) and reporting unsafe situations

  • Ability to successfully complete all legal, company and department training requirements within established timelines

  • Ability to walk uphill and work on heights above 150 feet

  • Ability to operate and maneuver in and around tights spaces

  • Ability to stand, walk, and work for prolonged periods of time
