Job Description
Role OverviewThe Risk & Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting enterprise-wide risk management, safety programs, and claims operations across multiple locations and client sites. This role combines safety compliance, risk analysis, claims management, and training, ensuring a proactive safety culture while minimizing workplace incidents and associated costs. Key ResponsibilitiesSafety & Loss Control
- Promote a safety-first culture across all locations
- Serve as the primary safety advisor to leadership and field teams
- Conduct on-site risk assessments to identify hazards
- Recommend and implement corrective actions
- Coordinate programs to reduce:
- Workplace accidents
- Occupational illnesses
- Long-term risk exposure
- Investigate accidents and injuries
- Prepare documentation for:
- Regulatory reviews
- Insurance investigations
- Legal proceedings
- Develop prevention strategies and share lessons learned
- Manage the full claims lifecycle:
- Intake → investigation → resolution
- Apply risk transfer strategies to minimize costs
- Maintain relationships with:
- Insurance carriers
- Claims adjusters
- Legal counsel
- Submit and manage First Reports of Injury
- Participate in workers' compensation claim reviews
- Ensure compliance with all reporting requirements
- Support insurance programs and risk mitigation strategies
- Process certificates of insurance
- Manage workers' compensation classifications and audits
- Assist with client selection based on risk classification
- Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures
- Lead safety committee initiatives
- Develop and deliver:
- Safety training programs
- Awareness sessions
- Client-specific safety protocols
- Provide ongoing support to field teams on safety practices
- Perform monthly claims analysis and trending
- Develop reports for leadership and stakeholders
- Identify patterns and recommend risk reduction actions
- Ensure data is accurate, consistent, and actionable
- Provide direct support to field offices and client sites
- Travel (~25%) for:
- Safety inspections
- Training sessions
- Client engagement
- 2–4 years of experience in:
- Safety management
- Risk management
- Claims management
- Experience in industries such as:
- Staffing
- Construction
- Manufacturing
- Industrial environments
- Working knowledge of:
- OSHA standards
- Incident reporting
- Risk assessments
- Safety audits
- Experience with:
- Workers' compensation processes
- Claims handling
- Classification codes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal)
- Strong analytical skills (root cause analysis focus)
- Ability to travel and perform on-site inspections
