About the Role
Surge Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented Risk Management & Compliance Coordinator to join our Risk Management, Compliance, and Systems Integration team. This position supports incident intake, workers' compensation administration, invoice processing, vendor coordination, and accurate recordkeeping.
The ideal candidate enjoys structured processes, excels in Microsoft Excel, and handles confidential information with professionalism and care. We will provide training on workers' compensation processes, including incident intake and Light Duty Agreement preparation.
Key Responsibilities
- Incident Intake & Call Handling: Answer incoming calls using established scripts, document new incidents in Riskonnect, and route calls to the appropriate team members.
- Light Duty Agreements: Prepare Light Duty Agreements using approved templates and established procedures.
- Invoice Processing & Tracking: Enter, process, and track invoices in Excel and/or Riskonnect; prepare data for upload, communicate with appropriate parties to resolve discrepancies, and support timely payment.
- Premium Submissions & State Reporting: Assist with preparing, tracking, and submitting required premium information and state reports according to established procedures and deadlines.
- Vendor Coordination: Order drug tests and personal protective equipment (PPE) through approved vendor websites, maintain tracking records in Riskonnect, and confirm deliveries.
- Loss Run Reporting: Compile and process loss run reports for management review.
- Quality Audits: Review documented processes for accuracy and adherence to procedures, report findings to management, and clearly explain the supporting documentation and rationale for audit scores.
- Supply Management & Shipping: Restock first aid kits at Surge headquarters and fulfill requests from branches and affiliated Surge entities. Prepare and ship drug tests, PPE, first aid kits, and other supplies as needed.
- Data Maintenance: Complete scheduled data uploads and updates in Riskonnect using designated tools while maintaining accurate, complete records.
- Support additional administrative and operational activities as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Strong Microsoft Excel proficiency, including formulas, sorting and filtering, formatting, VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and data validation.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to follow established scripts, workflows, and procedures consistently.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple recurring tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining accuracy.
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential workers' compensation, incident, and compliance records.
- Willingness to learn Riskonnect, vendor platforms, and other business systems.
- Dependable, professional, and adaptable to evolving processes and business needs.
Preferred Experience
Previous experience in administrative support, accounts payable, workers' compensation, claims processing, risk management, or compliance is preferred. Workers' compensation experience is not required; we provide training on role-specific processes.
