Unit NotesPCU RN, 4th Floor East Wing

Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.

Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract

- RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * *

Scrubs: Navy Blue, CNA Ceil BlueNursing Assistant support: YesCharge nurse: yesHands free: n/aAdditional unit support staff: Educator, Care Managers, Social Workers, Dieticians, PT, OTCommon Patient Diagnosis: CVA, TIA, shortness of breath, COVID, subdural hematoma, weakness

Common Drips/Medications: PCA pumps for pain management, cardizem, insulin

Required certs: ACLS, BLSOther needed competencies: TelemetryEMR: EPICIV Pumps: AlarisSpecialty Equipment Available: Mechanical lifts in every other roomUnit Challenges: StaffingFloat: Yes, ideally to MS areas. Float will depend on highest need.Patient Experience challenges/focus: hourly rounding and responsivenessQualities for hires: A nurse on this unit is successful when he or she can manage the business of the day. The unit is a tight knit group and are great with helping each other out.
