Job Description

Unit NotesDepartment: IR (RN)Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (Preferred: PALS)Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.

Driver's license required at submittal and will be used to determine if candidate is outside 50 miles.Fingernail policy: Artificial nails are prohibited in all departments providing patient care- refusal to remove nails will lead to termination of contract

  • Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation. OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass. Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated * *

  • of suites/labs: 1

  • Common diagnoses/Types of patients: Diagnostics, Embo's, Carotid Stents, Thrombectomies

  • Experience or 'Must have' skills: Must have a least 2 years of experience in IR, ICU, or ER. Neuro experience preferred

  • EMR/Equipment: EPIC & Siemens

  • Artis Icono

  • Is there a manager/Charge Nurse on each shift? Does the charge nurse take an assignment?: Yes

  • IR Techs? Yes, Neuro IR techs

  • Shifts & Scheduling (Do you allow self-scheduling? Block scheduling?): 0730-1630 // cyclic scheduling

  • Weekend/Call Requirements: Call only with rotation

  • Holiday/Call Requirements: Call only with rotation

  • Floating Requirements: May float all over in Radiology - helping start IVs, transport, file room coverage. May have to float (during scheduled shift here) to Immanuel if a stroke comes in or another IR case that needs covered

  • How many shifts of unit/department specific orientation?: 2 weeks

  • Additional Notes: Attributes that will help a nurse be successful in this department include being reliable, flexible, personable, professional, and patient oriented

Radius Rule: 50 miles AND candidates may not be full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with CommonSpirit, including CHI and/or Dignity.RTO needed upfront (7 or less days per 13 week contract).
