Job Description
This is a Registered Nurse Cardiology/Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position on nights at a 198-bed, Level III trauma center in Farmington, NM, serving the Four Corners region of New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, and Utah. The hospital holds PCI, Mammography, and Laboratory accreditations and provides a broad service line that includes a cancer center, nephrology unit, inpatient behavioral health unit, childbirth center, pediatric unit, and day surgery center. Due to its regional location, the facility receives Level I, II, and III trauma cases by air transport.The role. The nurse in this position cares for patients on a Cardiology/PCU step-down unit, managing a patient population that commonly presents with STEMI, non-STEMI, stroke, post-cardiac catheterization recovery, and alcohol withdrawal. Clinical responsibilities center on close hemodynamic monitoring and telemetry interpretation in an intermediate care environment, timely recognition of deteriorating cardiac and neurological status, and coordination of care through the post-procedural and acute cardiac recovery phases. Nurses are expected to function with a strong working knowledge of IMC-level monitoring and cardiac care protocols.What we're looking for.
- Associate degree in Nursing or higher
- Active RN license required prior to start date; New Mexico licensure or Compact licensure both acceptable candidates without either must obtain licensure before starting
- Minimum 2 years of acute care experience
- Minimum 1 year of IMC or Cardiology experience required; 2 years preferred
- BLS required at time of submission
- All additional required life support certifications may be obtained after hire (refer to Life Support Certification document for specifics)
- Resume must reflect Nurse Practicum and list all experience in MM/YYYY format
