Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Med‑Surg RN)

About the Role
The Med‑Surg Nurse provides high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care to a diverse patient population. This role requires strong assessment skills, the ability to multitask, and a passion for patient advocacy. You’ll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, support patient education, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the unit.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver safe, effective patient care using the nursing process
Assess patient learning needs and provide appropriate education to patients and families
Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members
Delegate tasks appropriately and manage nursing resources efficiently
Utilize clinical data and best practices to support optimal patient outcomes
Demonstrate behaviors that promote patient satisfaction, teamwork, and a positive work environment
Adapt communication and care strategies to meet the needs of diverse patient populations
Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards
Stay informed on current laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements
Uphold organizational compliance, privacy, and safety standards
Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Registered Nurse diploma
2+ years of nursing experience
Active RN license in the state of practice
Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Ability to use computers, software, and web‑based applications
Demonstrated good judgment and ability to work independently
Preferred Qualifications
Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
Specialty certification in a clinical area
Experience in a medical‑surgical environment
