Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (Med‑Surg RN)

About the Role

The Med‑Surg Nurse provides high‑quality, evidence‑based nursing care to a diverse patient population. This role requires strong assessment skills, the ability to multitask, and a passion for patient advocacy. You’ll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, support patient education, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the unit.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective patient care using the nursing process

• Assess patient learning needs and provide appropriate education to patients and families

• Communicate clearly and professionally with patients, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members

• Delegate tasks appropriately and manage nursing resources efficiently

• Utilize clinical data and best practices to support optimal patient outcomes

• Demonstrate behaviors that promote patient satisfaction, teamwork, and a positive work environment

• Adapt communication and care strategies to meet the needs of diverse patient populations

• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with all regulatory standards

• Stay informed on current laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements

• Uphold organizational compliance, privacy, and safety standards

• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Registered Nurse diploma

• 2+ years of nursing experience

• Active RN license in the state of practice

• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association

• Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

• Ability to use computers, software, and web‑based applications

• Demonstrated good judgment and ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing

• Specialty certification in a clinical area

• Experience in a medical‑surgical environment
