A psychiatric nurse delivers comprehensive behavioral healthcare by assessing mental status, managing psychiatric crises, coordinating interdisciplinary treatment teams, and empowering patients and families through compassionate advocacy and psychoeducation.How you grow, learn and thrive matters here.Responsibilities:
Driven by clinical excellence and therapeutic empathy, the Psychiatric Registered Nurse stabilizes acute mental health crises while fostering a safe, therapeutic environment for long-term recovery. By conducting rigorous psychiatric evaluations, managing complex treatment plans, and leading interdisciplinary care teams, the role provides pivotal support to individuals navigating behavioral health challenges. Dedicated to patient advocacy and de-escalation, this position empowers patients and families through targeted psychoeducation, compassionate boundaries, and strict adherence to patient rights.Psychiatric Clinical Resource & Delegation: Directs and delegates patient care assignments to psychiatric technicians, behavioral health aides, and nursing staff based on patient acuity, safety risk levels, and staff capabilities.Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in nursing
- New Mexico RN License required.
- BLS required
