RN - Labor & Delivery (L&D) | Travel Assignment
Duration: 12 WeeksLocation: 4755 Ogletown-Stanton Road, Newark, DE 19718Shift: Days | 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)Hours: 36 hours/week
Requirements
- Active Delaware RN License or Compact RN License (required at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience (no exceptions)
- RN License number and expiration date
- List of all certifications with expiration dates
- All requested RTO submitted with initial application (no changes after submission)
- Full SSN, DOB, and address
- Voice Advantage interview required
- Nurse Manager screening/interview
- Surgical Techs must be certified (if applicable)
Unit Information
- Unit: Labor & Delivery
- Beds: 21–30
- Charting System: Cerner (transitioning to Epic)
- Scrub Color: Ceil Blue (provided by the facility)
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratios: 1:1, 1:2, or 1:3 based on patient acuity
Patient Population & Procedures
Care for patients requiring:
- Labor and vaginal deliveries
- Induction of labor
- Cesarean section deliveries
- External Cephalic Version (ECV)
- Fetal demise and intrauterine fetal death (IUFD)
Required Clinical Skills
- Labor and postpartum care
- Epidural management
- Magnesium Sulfate administration
- Pitocin titration
- Insulin drip management
- Maternal and fetal monitoring
- Emergency obstetric response
Floating
Must float to:
- Antenatal
- High-Risk Obstetrics
- OB Triage
- Postpartum
- Other units within competency and patient acuity
Scheduling Requirements
- Every other weekend (EOW)
- Holiday coverage required
- No call requirement
Facility Policies
- Travel RNs are not permitted to work overtime or pick up extra shifts.
- Incidental overtime is not approved.
- Meal breaks are mandatory.
- During shift changes, timely patient handoff is expected, especially following emergency situations, with support available from Charge Nurses and Nurse Managers as needed.
