Registered Nurse - Emergency RoomJob SummaryProvides emergency nursing care to patients of all ages presenting with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries. Performs rapid triage and assessment, initiates treatment protocols, and delivers care during resuscitation and other life-threatening emergencies. Prepares patients for admission, transfer or discharge with appropriate education and follow-up instruction.Education & Experience• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing: Required• Emergency Department or acute care nursing experience: RequiredLicenses & Certifications• Registered Nurse licensure in the state of practice: Required• Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification: RequiredKey Responsibilities• Perform triage assessment and assign acuity for patients presenting to the Emergency Department.• Complete focused and ongoing assessments and reassessments across all age groups.• Initiate and carry out emergency treatment protocols, including medication and IV therapy administration.• Participate in resuscitation events, including Code Blue, stroke, sepsis and trauma activations.• Interpret cardiac rhythms and monitor patients for deterioration, escalating promptly.• Complete accurate and timely documentation and provide discharge or transfer instructions.
