Cooperidge Consulting Firm is seeking an RN Manager of Critical Care (Medical ICU) for a top healthcare client in Dallas, TX.

This role provides leadership and operational oversight for a 16-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU), managing a team of 45 FTEs. The Manager is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of critical care nursing practice, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability, and aligning departmental performance with hospital goals for quality, safety, and patient satisfaction.

Job Responsibilities

  • Oversee all clinical and administrative operations of the Medical ICU.
  • Lead and mentor staff to maintain excellence in patient-centered care and adherence to best practices.
  • Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary teams to optimize care outcomes.
  • Develop and implement department policies, programs, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Manage budgets, staffing levels, and resource utilization to support operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and safety standards.
  • Promote effective communication across teams and within the leadership structure.
  • Foster professional development through training, evaluations, and performance feedback.
Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Master’s degree in Nursing or related field preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 2 years of recent (within the last year) acute care leadership experience in critical care required
  • Prior ICU management experience strongly preferred

Certifications/Licenses

  • Active Texas or Compact State RN license required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications required
  • CCRN and/or CNRN preferred

Skills or Competencies

  • Proven leadership and communication skills
  • Strong understanding of ICU clinical operations and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to drive team engagement, performance, and quality improvement initiatives
