RN Neurology

Job Details:

• Provide nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex in a hospital setting• Stroke experience and NIHSS are both preferred . Will need to precept and possibly work in the virtual room. This is a Stroke and Neuro floor. They also have ortho and spine patients. We are a comprehensive stroke center. Ratios 3:1 SD patients and 5:1 all other patients.• Assume responsibility for an assigned group of patients• Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments• Assist physicians in patient examinations and minor diagnostic procedures• Obtain and monitor physiological data, observe patient manifestations and intervene when necessary• Administer medications as prescribed• Initiate, regulate and monitor intravenous infusions and blood products• Interact with family and patients regarding care plans during hospitalization and at discharge• Make referrals for patient care needs to appropriate personnel• Delegate tasks to support staff• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience required• Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred• Required certifications: Oklahoma RN License or multistate compact RN License (eNLC), BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association)• Strong verbal and written communication skills required• Computer skills and ability to respond to cultural and language needs of patients
