Job Description
Overview:Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during his/her shift. Provides clinical care as needed when census demands. Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s). Serves as resource for guidance and assistance to the staff.Qualifications:EducationGraduate from a nursing program RequiredBachelor’s Degree PreferredWork Experience~1 year of nursing experience in a hospital setting Required~2 years or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting PreferredLicenses and CertificationsRN - Registered Nurse - Georgia State Licensure and/or NLC/eNCL Multistate Licensure RequiredBCLS - Basic Life Support RequiredAdvanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum)Additional Licenses and CertificationsAdvanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum) RequiredACLS Certification (Cardiac Tele, Critical Care, Surgical Services including Labor and Delivery) RequiredPALS Certification (Emergency Department) RequiredChemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification – prior to independent chemotherapy administration (Infusion/Oncology) RequiredNRP by the end of orientation period (Women’s Services: Labor and Delivery, Mother/Baby, NICU, NAT, Nursery) RequiredAWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Program within 12 months of start date (Labor and Delivery) RequiredPEARS Certification ( at Piedmont Athens Hospital) RequiredPALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services) RequiredACLS and PALS Certification (Emergency Department) RequiredACLS; PALS if unit provides care to pediatric patients (Surgical Services) RequiredExperienced Emergency Department nurses will have 30 days to obtain the PALS certification RequiredBusiness Unit : Company Name:Piedmont Augusta Hospital
