The Registered Nurse in Radiology is responsible for providing direct patient care by applying special clinical nursing knowledge and skills related to the Medical Imaging setting. He or she will strive to ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide direct patient care for patients undergoing procedures in the imaging suite such as CT, MR, US, Radiography, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine and Cardi Lab where applicable
Assist physicians and technologists with patient preparation for procedures
Assists during procedures
Gather information. Responsible for appropriate labeling, handling, delivering and tracking of specimens from collection to reporting
Provide health education information. Provide post procedure instructions
Care of patients: performs technical and supportive patient care skills including, but not limited to:
Waived testing
Respiratory care
Medical emergency response
Safe and effective medication administration
Prioritization of urgent patient care needs
IV skills, venipuncture
Catheterization skill
EKG monitoring
Infection control: Provides environment to prevent and control the spread of disease within the clinical setting.
Includes, but is not limited to:
Handwashing
Aseptic technique
Sterile technique
Care, cleaning, and sterilization of instruments as applicable
Management of Information: Accurately documents and communicates to appropriate care providers. Includes, but is not limited to:
Confidentiality
Documentation
Clerical duties
Release of Information
Triage and telephone message taking
Computer use
Follows test results reporting policies and procedures to include obtaining, interpreting and communication of results to providers and patients as applicable
Appointment scheduling
Environment of Care: Assists with maintenance of equipment, supplies and environment. Including, but not limited to:
Orders supplies
Maintains equipment to include departmental crash cart according to established clinic guidelines
Adheres to Clinic safety standards for employees, patients, and visitors
Identifies and reports potential barriers for the safe provision of patient care and maintains a safe patient environment
Supports initiatives related to OSHA and accreditation standards
Patient Rights and Responsibilities: practices positive guest and peer relations. Supports and respects patient rights. Includes, but is not limited to:
Advanced Directives
Informed consent
Complaint resolution
Post-procedure patient education
Human Resources: Responsible for personal growth and career development. Includes but is not limited to:
Maintaining licensure and certifications
Annual competency assessment
Teamwork
Effective communication
Performance Improvement: participates in organizational improvement. Includes, but is not limited to:
Performance Improvement plans
Utilization of PDSA model
Familiar with specifics related to MR, CT, US, radiography, nuclear medicine, cardi-lab, and needle biopsies Cognizant of radiation hazards and safe practices

Required Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved RN nursing program
- Current and valid RN license
- BCLS certification
- 2+ years of experience as a practicing RN
- Competent in the use of equipment and related supplies for selected patient population
- CPR, oxygen administration and intravenous therapy
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing
- Specialty nursing certification applicable to medical imaging
- ACLS certification
- 2+ years of nursing experience in a medical imaging department
- Windows computer experience, RIS experience
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The hourly pay for this role will range from $35.00 to $62.50 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
