Job Description

Your job is more than a job.

You were born to lead. Or maybe you've developed such skills through experience and training. Either way, the most critical feature of leadership is mindset. It's what separates the best from the rest. And that starts with attitude and aptitude. As an Administrative Nurse Supervisor, your top priority is building an excellent team that delivers extraordinary care with an empathetic dose of "can-do" spirit.

You understand that because you've traveled the nursing road and you've witnessed the calling to care firsthand. You have the insight and experience to embrace, direct, support and the goals of the nursing division. You're comfortable being the face of nursing and representing nursing administration because if not you, then who? We concur and, frankly, we love the way you think.

Your experiences, knowledge, skills, empathy, compassion, and personality, all of it adds up to you. And we're excited to get to know you and find out what you will bring to this nursing supervisor role.

Your Everyday

Ensure smooth daily operations of your department/unit.

Maintain standards of team accountability and delivery of care services by following hospital/nursing policies, infection control/safety/environmental policies, procedures and standards.

Round patient care units to ascertain patients' conditions.

Coordinate and evaluate services rendered by and to all departments during the respective shift.

Inform leadership regarding circumstances or situations which have or may have serious impact.

Assess and intervene as needed for physiologic, psychosocial educational and developmental needs of patients and families.

Serve as a main resource person on all nursing units for the hospital and provide administrative nursing leadership.

Administer nurse staffing, schedules, utilization, and follow-up appropriate for patient census, acuity level, and special conditions.

Evaluate and document employees' performance and communicate information to the appropriate department managers.

Ensure professional development, participate in planning and in-service education programs or other meetings, seminars, or institutes both internally and externally.

Maintain communication between other nursing and ancillary departments.

Evaluate staffing needs and provide support to caregivers ensuring proper staffing matrix, unit-specific needs and employee experience/expertise.
