Job Description

The Company
Tutor Intelligence is building the technology and processes to let robots go where they’ve never gone before: the average American factory and warehouse. We understand that general-purpose and generally intelligent robots are going to be built in our lifetimes, and we’re not content to sit on the sidelines.
Founded by MIT alumni and backed with over $40M in funding by leading investors in AI and robotics, Tutor combines human and artificial intelligence to build something greater than the sum of its parts — a Tutor Intelligence. As an AI software company that deploys its inventions directly into the facilities that need them, every line of code, every mechanical improvement, and every operational decision at Tutor directly impacts the physical economy.
We don’t just build robots. We deploy them, maintain them, improve them, and stand behind them in the real world.
The Role
As a Robotics Technician II, you will be on the front lines of that mission.
You will own the health, performance, and reliability of our deployed robotic systems. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that requires strong technical capability, independent judgment, and professional communication. You will travel to customer sites, diagnose issues, execute repairs, and represent Tutor Intelligence with confidence and credibility.
You are not just fixing equipment — you are protecting uptime, strengthening customer relationships, and ensuring our technology performs in the environments it was built to transform.

  • Support installation, commissioning, and deployment of robotic systems
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and ticket updates
  • Manage spare parts usage and ensure proper inventory transactions
  • Escalate complex technical issues appropriately while driving resolution
  • Identify recurring failures and partner with Engineering to improve system reliability
  • Adhere strictly to safety and operational standards

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or related field preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in robotics, automation, industrial maintenance, or electromechanical systems
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting in a field or production environment
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
  • Strong verbal communication skills and confidence working directly with customers
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel extensively

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with robotics systems or automation cells
  • Familiarity with PLCs, sensors, motors, pneumatics, and basic networking
  • Experience using CMMS or service ticketing systems
  • Spare parts and inventory management experience
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand, kneel, crouch, and work in tight or elevated spaces
  • Comfortable working in active warehouse or factory environments
  • Travel up to 75%, including short-notice travel
  • Occasional evening, weekend, or on-call support as needed to meet uptime commitments
