The Impact You'll Make in this Role

The S/4 IT Finance SME is responsible for supporting and implementing Record to Report (RTR) processes and systems, with a strong focus on SAP S/4HANA Finance. This role partners with Finance, IT, and cross-functional teams to deliver stable, scalable, and standardized solutions that support financial close, reporting, and process improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the SME for RTR processes within SAP S/4HANA Finance

• Partner with Finance stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into system solutions

• Support key RTR areas including: -

• General Ledger

• Fixed Assets and Projects

• Intercompany

• Journal entries

• Financial reporting

• Treasury and banking

• Tax and compliance

• Support SAP S/4HANA enhancements, implementations, upgrades, and process improvements

• Participate in process design, fit-gap analysis, testing, defect resolution, and production support

• Coordinate with IT, SAP support teams, and business users to resolve issues and deliver enhancements

• Drive process standardization, simplification, and automation across RTR

• Create and maintain business requirements, test scripts, process documentation, and training materials

• Support user adoption, change management, and ongoing system optimization

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Business (completed and verified prior to start)
• Seven (7) years of technical experience in Finance, ERP systems, or IT business analysis in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Strong experience in Record to Report processes and financial close activities
• Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance in RTR-related functions
• Experience supporting SAP implementations, upgrades, or transformation initiatives
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills
• Strong understanding of finance process integration, testing, and incident management
• Ability to work effectively across business and technical teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA areas such as General Ledger, Asset Accounting, and Intercompany
• Familiarity with SAP Fiori
• Experience in global process standardization or finance transformation projects
• Knowledge of financial controls, reporting structures, and close optimization tools
• SAP or finance-related certification is a plus

Travel: May include up to 15% domestic/international

This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
