SCHEDULE: Varying shifs,24-hour operations

SUMMARY

As a Security Officer, you patrol and protect the facility, grounds, and building to preserve the peace and make employees feel safe and secure.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Investigation & Safety. Investigate cases of detected or reported criminal and safety matters; identify and report real or potential hazards in the environment; transfer and discharge patients as requested

• Parking Management. Monitor and control hospital employee and visitor parking areas

• Ensure Safety and Security: Maintain a visible security presence, respond to routine and emergency incidents, patrol facilities, and prevent unauthorized access or disturbances.

• Access and Visitor Control: Monitor entrances and exits, assist and screen visitors, and ensure proper admittance processes are followed.

• Incident Response: Respond to and manage incidents involving violence, hazards, or emergencies; protect evidence and communicate effectively with appropriate personnel.

• Customer Service: Provide respectful, courteous interactions with patients, staff, and visitors while representing the organization professionally.

• Compliance and Conduct: Uphold grooming and uniform standards, identify safety hazards, demonstrate age-related care competency, and perform additional duties as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent

• NYS Security Guard License required

• Valid NYS Driver’s License

• CPR certification for new hires or obtained within 3 months of hire

• Preventing Managing Crisis Situation Training (PMCS) certification or obtain within 3 months of hire

EDUCATION:

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: 

NYS DL - valid New York State Driver's License- New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (NYSDMV), SO - Security Officer license- New York State Department of State Division of Licensing Services (DOLS)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Heavy- This category includes physically intensive work such as lifting heavy materials (up to 100 lbs.), climbing ladders, crawling into tight spaces, and working on uneven, slippery, or elevated surfaces. Employees must demonstrate strong motor coordination, balance, and spatial awareness to safely operate tools and equipment. High visual and auditory alertness is required, especially in areas with moving machinery. Emotional demands are moderate, focusing on hazard recognition, task accuracy, and adherence to safety standards. Environmental exposures may include extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, loud noise, and mechanical hazards. Personal protective equipment (PPE) and periodic physical examinations are often required.

PAY RANGE:

$23.25 - $23.25Rochester14621

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
