Safety Coordinator, HI

Safety Worxs is seeking experienced Construction Safety Professionals to support ongoing heavy-civil projects in Honolulu, HI. These roles are field-based and require strong boots-on-the-ground leadership to ensure compliance with EM 385-1-1, OSHA standards, and project-specific safety requirements.

The ideal candidate is proactive, visible in the field, confident engaging crews, and committed to maintaining a high-performance safety culture in dynamic construction environments.

Responsibilities:

• Enforce and administer site-specific safety programs in compliance with EM 385-1-1 and OSHA regulations
• Conduct daily jobsite inspections, hazard assessments, and safety audits
• Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors; implement corrective actions
• Lead and document toolbox talks and safety meetings
• Support and/or lead incident investigations and root cause analysis
• Review and monitor high-risk activities (excavation, heavy equipment, lifting, confined space, etc.)
• Maintain accurate safety documentation, reports, and compliance records
• Collaborate with project leadership and subcontractors to reinforce safety expectations
• Promote a proactive, accountable safety culture across all trades

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of construction safety experience (heavy civil preferred)
• Strong knowledge of OSHA Construction Standards
• EM 385-1-1 experience preferred
• Experience supporting high-risk construction activities
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced field environments
• Strong communication and leadership skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office for reporting
• Must be able to pass a DBIDS background
• BCSP Certification

Preferred:

• OSHA 500
• CSHO or other advanced safety certifications
• Experience on federal or P3 infrastructure projects
