Job Description
Join Safety Worxs in Fargo, ND as a Safety Coordinator in this dynamic P3 flood management project. The work currently focused on the construction of the aqueduct and channels work. If you have 3-5 years experience, enjoy boots-on-the-ground safety leadership, open to team collaboration, passionate about creating a safer workplace and making a real impact, this is the opportunity for you.
Duties include but not limited to:
- Administer compliance with the safety program and lead accident prevention efforts to ensure company and project safety goals are met.
- Conduct site inspections of project work areas and equipment.
- Develop, organize, and implement safety related programs that meet company safety standards.
- Assisting in the investigation of accidents and determining root causes and recommend corrective /preventive measures.
- Perform and document jobsite inspections and audits with a focus on hazard recognition and unsafe behaviors.
- Coordinate and conduct safety meetings/training programs to ensure effective communication amongst new and existing employees.
- Participate in regulatory agency inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Carry out any other assigned tasks given by the Area Safety Manager or Area Project Manager.
Qualifications:
- Spanish/English Bilingual (highly preferred)
- 3-5 years' safety experience in heavy civil construction
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite for reporting
- Must be able to stand, walk, and climb multiple flights of stairs.
- Outside role, working rotating Days and Night shifts.
Preferred:
- 5+ years’ safety experience in heavy construction (marine works, tunnel, or roadway)
- OSHA 500 Hour Construction Safety Trained
- CSHO - Certified Safety and Health Official
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in Safety Training and Incident Investigation
- Team player with a professional image, capable of handling highly confidential information
- Exercise excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
