Site Safety Coordinator | Structural Steel Project Orlando, Florida $49/HR + $140 Per Diem Start: ASAP️ 1099 Contract | 4-Month Project Approximately 50 Hours Per Week | Monday through Friday, with some SaturdaysWe are seeking an experienced Site Safety Coordinator to provide full-time onsite safety support for a large structural steel construction project in Orlando.This position requires a hands-on safety professional with deep experience supporting steel erection and ironworker operations. General construction safety experience alone will not qualify. The ideal candidate understands the hazards of structural steel work and can confidently discuss and apply OSHA Subpart R requirements in the field.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide daily safety oversight for structural steel erection and ironworker activities
Monitor elevated work, field bolting, welding, crane operations, rigging, and material handling
Conduct jobsite inspections and immediately address unsafe conditions or behaviors
Review and support Job Hazard Analyses, pre-task plans, and other hazard-control documentation
Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and new-hire orientations
Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses
Track corrective actions through completion and maintain required safety documentation
Coordinate closely with project leadership, the general contractor, subcontractors, and the field workforce
Maintain a highly visible field presence and reinforce accountability across the project
Required QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of safety experience supporting steel erection and ironworker operations
Strong working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart RMust be able to discuss Subpart R requirements in detail during the interview processOSHA 510 certification is required
Experience overseeing cranes, rigging, fall protection, welding, bolting, and elevated work
Strong communication, documentation, and incident-investigation skills
Ability to work approximately 50 hours per week, including some Saturdays as project conditions require
Available to begin as soon as possible
