Job Description
Safety Coordinator
Our client has an opening for their Safety department, located in the SJ area. They will help develop and carry out procedures to minimize safety related issues.
Responsibilities:
Guide and assist plant employees with all levels of safety and health opportunities
Respond to any work related injuries and notify management; make recommendations for implementations of corrections
Support internal forklift certification processes
Interact with 3rd party organizations to fulfill project completion goals safely and effectively
Collaborate with worker's compensation department on work related injury information
-Validates incident report information for accuracy and completeness
Investigates incidents with cross functional team members to determine root cause and effective corrective actions
Monitor safety programs, policies, and procedures that meet OSHA and other applicable laws and regulations
Assists with the development and execution of programs as listed above
Conduct scheduled audits to determine workplace hazards and assists in development of corrective actions
Perform and document security equipment inspections as assigned
Maintain a complete understanding of site emergency procedures
Report security activities and make necessary adjustments and/or recommend improvements
Requirements:
HS Diploma is required
Bilingual (Spanish) is required
Safety background/experience is required
Knowledge of OSHA regulations
Knowledge of worker's compensation processes
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel)
Ability to work flexible schedules
