Job Description
• Job Title: Safety Inspector• Location: College Station, TX• Start Date: ASAP• Employment Type: 1099 Contractor• Duration: 3 to 5 months
Compensation Rate: $200 to $250 per inspection Per Diem: Not available
• Schedule• Hours: Approximately 2 to 6 hours per week• ️ Audit Duration: About 2 hours per site• Frequency: 5 audits per week
Project OverviewThis assignment provides independent safety audit support across multiple active work sites in the College Station, Texas area. The Safety Inspector will perform unannounced audits to capture true working conditions and support proactive safety improvements. The current scope includes oversight of more than 10 active crews, including one bore crew and one gas crew.
Scope of WorkPrimary activities include, but are not limited to:
• Conducting unannounced safety audit inspections across multiple job sites• Coordinating general scheduling awareness with Denbow's Director of Safety• Reviewing PPE usage, JSAs, toolbox talks, trench safety, and Atmos-specific requirements• Observing active work to assess real-time safety practices and behaviors• Providing field-based coaching and constructive feedback rather than enforcement-only documentation• Documenting audit findings and communicating actionable observations
Key Responsibilities• Perform one safety audit per site per week• Maintain an objective, field-focused presence during inspections• Identify unsafe conditions, at-risk behaviors, and opportunities for improvement• Engage crews through coaching and practical safety guidance• Ensure audits reflect actual working conditions without advance notice to crews• Submit clear and accurate audit documentation and feedback
• Qualifications• OSHA 30 required, OSHA 500 or 510 preferred• Minimum of 5+ years of safety experience• Bilingual required, English and Spanish• Strong field observation, communication, and documentation skills• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
