Construction Safety Manager Location: Charleston, SC Duration: 6+ Months (Immediate Need) Type: 1099 ContractorCompensation & Schedule Pay Rate: $45/hr Per Diem: $125/Day Completion Bonus: $150/month Pay Frequency: Weekly Schedule: Monday-Saturday | 60 Hours Per Week (6x10s) | 1st ShiftWhy This Opportunity?Join a mechanical and fire protection contractor supporting the construction of a new aircraft hangar in Spartanburg, SC. This role provides hands-on safety leadership for mechanical piping, HVAC, fire protection system installation, material handling, elevated work, and daily construction activities on a large-scale aerospace project.The Construction Safety Manager will partner closely with project leadership, field supervision, and craft personnel to maintain OSHA compliance while promoting a proactive safety culture throughout all phases of construction.Required Qualifications OSHA 30 Construction Certification Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience Mechanical construction safety experience
Preferred Qualifications Fire protection construction experience Aerospace, aviation, or aircraft hangar construction experience Industrial or manufacturing construction experience Experience supporting large-scale commercial construction projects CHST, ASP, CSP, or other BCSP credential
What You'll Be DoingOversee daily safety activities for mechanical and fire protection construction operations
Maintain a visible field presence alongside craft personnel and project supervision
Conduct routine site inspections, safety observations, and risk assessments
Monitor mechanical piping, HVAC, fire protection, and equipment installation activities
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and project safety requirements
Provide field coaching and mentorship to supervisors and craft personnel
Deliver toolbox talks and support ongoing safety training initiatives
Review Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), permits, and pre-task plans
Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation
Maintain safety reports, inspections, observations, and compliance documentation
Partner with project leadership to proactively identify and mitigate hazards
Promote a positive safety culture across the project
