Safety Manager

Job Title: Safety Manager• Location: Niagara Falls, NY• Start Date: ASAP• Employment Type: 1099 Contractor• Duration: 6 to 7 Months

Compensation• Rate: $54 to $56 per hour• Per Diem: Not available• Pay Frequency: Weekly

Schedule Hours: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week

Project OverviewThis assignment provides full-time, on-site safety oversight for the asbestos abatement and structural demolition of a closed OXY plant in Niagara Falls, New York. The Safety Manager will support high-risk environmental and demolition activities, ensuring strict compliance with OSHA, HAZWOPER, and site-specific safety requirements throughout all phases of the project.

Scope of WorkPrimary activities include, but are not limited to:

• Safety oversight of asbestos abatement operations• Safety management for structural demolition activities• Enforcement of OSHA, HAZWOPER, and environmental safety standards• Field-based hazard identification and risk mitigation• Daily interaction with abatement crews, demolition teams, and site supervision• Oversight of contractor compliance with approved safety plans• Support of project-specific safety programs and regulatory requirements

Key Responsibilities• Maintain a consistent on-site field presence during active abatement and demolition work• Monitor high-hazard activities including asbestos handling and structural teardown• Identify, communicate, and assist in correcting unsafe conditions or behaviors• Conduct daily safety inspections, JHAs, and toolbox talks• Complete daily safety documentation, reports, and incident tracking• Participate in site safety meetings and coordination efforts• Support incident prevention and continuous safety improvement initiatives

Qualifications• OSHA 30• OSHA 510• HAZWOPER• Asbestos and Lead Awareness• Proven asbestos abatement experience• Structural demolition safety experience• Strong communication and documentation skills
