Project Scope
This position provides safety oversight for a data center construction project involving the installation of generator sets with associated structural steel and piping systems.
The Safety Manager will oversee high‑risk construction activities requiring continuous field presence. The role demands strong experience managing hazard‑intensive environments, ensuring compliance during mechanical installation, material handling, steel work, and related support activities.
Qualifications
OSHA 30 required Minimum 2 years of construction safety experience Current CPR / First Aid certificationMEWP Supervisor trainedNFPA Hot Work certification
Proven experience with:
- Fall Protection
- Lockout / Tagout (LOTO)
- Respiratory Protection
- Scaffolding
- Silica Exposure Control
Additional Requirements
• Strong field presence and hands‑on safety oversight• Ability to enforce site safety rules and client standards• Experience supporting subcontractor crews• Proactive approach to hazard identification and risk mitigation• Ability to communicate clearly with site leadership and craft labor
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as on‑site safety authority for data center construction activities• Conduct daily site safety inspections and job hazard analyses• Lead toolbox talks, orientations, and safety meetings• Monitor hot work, LOTO, scaffolding, and fall protection compliance• Ensure subcontractor adherence to all OSHA and site‑specific requirements• Stop unsafe work and implement corrective actions as needed• Maintain accurate safety documentation and reporting
Skills
Strong knowledge of construction and data center safetyAbility to manage high‑risk work environmentsClear, confident communication and sound safety judgment in the field
Knowledge Base
Expertise in OSHA regulatory compliance, construction safety management, data center environments, fall protection, LOTO systems, respiratory protection programs, silica control, hot work oversight, and active field safety leadership.
